The 23-year-old gunslinger has a litany of offensive weapons at his disposal, and Chiefs general manager patched up his leaky defense in the offseason by earning Steve Spagnuolo since the defensive coordinator and signing safety Tyrann Mathieu along with cornerback Bashaud Breeland.
The Chiefs defense ranked 31st in the league last year with 6,488 yards allowed, but the device will probably find a significant improvement this season. Together with Mahomes lightning up things on offense and the defense taking a leap, do not be shocked if Kansas City leaves a Super Bowl run.
