Iconic Choice camp hopeful ahead of Doonside Cup at Ayr

Tom Dascombe is Convinced Iconic Choice Can handle a step up in Excursion for the William Hill Doonside Cup at Ayr.

“If she did come back to her Guineas kind, then she would have a massive opportunity,” said Dascombe.
“She appears in good form at home. I’m delighted with her and she is stepping up slightly in trip some cut in the ground would assist her, however, she goes with a chance that is live.
“She remained a mile well last year, so you’d think the 10 furlongs now must be a big advantage to her.”
Mick Appleby is also expecting last week, Big Country to go close, following his return to something like his form in Doncaster.
He finished fourth behind the ground that was drying and the remarkable Fox Tal will likely be in his favour.
“He’s in good order and conducted a whole lot better , revealing much longer, and he’ll have come on again,” said Appleby.
“The ground is coming in his favour today, and I think he needs to have a good chance.
“Looking at the characters, there’s not much between a lot of them and onto his best form I believe he would have a wonderful chance. I don’t think he will be too far off.”
